BETASEAL adhesives and the drive away time following a windshield installation
Dow Automotive Systems have released the following information relating to it’s BETASEAL adhesive systems and the correct time following a windshield installation that a calibration on a motor vehicle equipped with an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) can be completed.
A replaced windshield sits firm in the aperture when a 1 component PU-adhesive has cured (in depth) for 1 mm from both sides. 1 mm cure is achieved after approx. 1 hour which results in approx. 0.5 MPa shear force.
This information should be considered for the listed BETASEAL repair adhesives which permit an ADAS-calibration after following times
