Altair Enlighten Runner up
BETASEAL™ X2500 structural adhesive achieved runner-up in the ‘enabling technology’ category. DuPont state that the adhesive provides a strong, reliable bond to low-surface-energy thermoplastics without the weight of additional mechanical fasteners; allowing the modular lightweight assembly for a weight savings of 20-30% compared to traditional steel liftgate structures.
Altair Enlighten Finalist
BETAMATE™ 1640 is a crash-durable structural adhesive was named as a finalist. The new epoxy adhesive bonds large substrates to allow for better load distribution in large structures. This ultimately allows for noticeable weight savings on the entire body structure due to lowering panel thickness whilst meeting the strict industry requirements.
