Oxygen Environments in Medical Applications
Medical grade lubricants are crucial parts of the healthcare industry. They are especially useful in applications involving oxygen, which are prone to fires when incompatible technologies are used. Oxygen-rich environments are present in many medical applications, including:

Krytox XHT Lubricants
Krytox XHT-BDX Grease is an extreme temperature grease which provides excellent lubricity in a large range of applications. It has little or no risk when used with metals and can easily be used on metallic surfaces; making it a versatile lubricant that can be utilised in varying medical device applications.
Krytox XHT-BDZ Grease is another extreme high-temperature grease designed for use in applications surpassing 288 °C, where standard PTFE thickeners are in danger of melting. It is commonly used in low-speed bearings and pillow housings.
Krytox NRT (non-reactive) Greases
Krytox NRT 8904 is a non-reactive, long-lasting grease designed for use with reactive gases such as oxygen, which makes it a valid option for manufacturers who are looking to boost product performance whilst still meeting strict industry regulations. As well as it’s oxygen compatibility, it is also suitable for use in demanding temperatures and pressures. It is commonly used in regulators, pumps, valves and compressors.
