EV Battery Swapping Stations
Electric vehicle (EV) battery swapping stations can replace depleted EV batteries for a full one in as little as five minutes.
EV battery swapping stations are a growing market, with certain providers swapping up to 30,000 batteries per day, and thousands of stations being added each year globally. Battery swapping simplifies battery maintenance by avoiding the changing of individual battery components, which proves to be a complicated task. Additionally, it is a much faster process than recharging the batteries, improving customer satisfaction and efficiency of operations.
How Does EV Battery Swapping Work?
First, electric extractors remove the bolts holding the battery in place. Then, a separate machine removes the battery pack from the underside of the car. A new, fully-charged battery is fitted into the vehicle and configured, and the vehicle is ready to drive away.
Molykote Pastes for Battery Pallet Bolt of EV Battery Swapping Stations
Lubrication plays a key role in the successful extraction of the battery pallet bolts during EV battery swapping. Through effective lubrication of the battery bolts, the following benefits can be achieved:
- Resistance to humidity and water
- Corrosion and rust protection
- Suitability for repeated disassembly
- Reduced wear and friction
- Increased lifespan of components
Molykote CU-7439 Plus
Molykote CU-7439 Plus is a copper paste that can be used for lubricating the bolts on EV battery pallets. It is designed for components subject to high temperatures, pressures and corrosive influences. It provides a wide service temperature range, good pressure resistance, resistance to water drag and low evaporation.
