Permabond a126

Permabond A126 – Anaerobic Threadlocker Adhesive

Permabond A126 is a high-capillary, high-strength anaerobic adhesive, commonly used for the permanent mounting of threaded metal components.

Permabond A126 – Anaerobic Threadlocker Adhesive

The exceptionally low viscosity of this product makes it ideal for use on tight components where the adhesive must be applied after mounting. In addition, it can also be used to seal porosity in welds or castings.

Characteristics Permabond A126

  • Excellent resistance to chemical attacks
  • Vibration resistant
  • It can be disassembled with normal tools
  • Seals porosity in welds and castings

Permabond A126 Applications

  • Bond for cylindrical parts and where high-temperature resistance is required
  • Thixotropic effect allows for larger tolerances
  • Ideal for joining metal threads
  • It can also be used to bond a wide variety of materials, such as plastics and composites.

Surface Preparation

  • Although anaerobic adhesives will tolerate a slight degree of surface contamination, the best results are obtained on clean, dry, and grease-free surfaces. The use of a suitable solvent-based cleaner (such as acetone or isopropanol) is recommended.
  • In general, rough surfaces (~ 25μm) give higher bond strengths than polished or ground surfaces.
  • To reduce cure time, especially on inactive surfaces (such as zinc, aluminium, and stainless steel), the use of Permabond A905 or ASC10 can be considered.

Instructions for use

  1. Apply a circumferential bead; preferably the female component.
  2. Assemble by twisting.
  3. For larger components, use thixotropic products to prevent runoff.
  4. Make sure the adhesive does not get into bearings or other solid mechanisms.
