Permabond HM162

Permabond HM162 High Temperature Resistant Anaerobic Retainer

Permabond HM162 is an anaerobic retaining compound with maximum gap fill that cures when confined between metal parts to form a tough bond.

Permabond HM162 High Temperature Resistant Anaerobic Retainer

Permabond HM162 is a rapid curing, anaerobic retaining compound for cylindrical parts, that requires high-temperature resistance of up to 200°C. The medium viscosity retainer cures when confined between metal parts to form a tough bond and helps improve fatigue life.
If Permabond HM162 is uncured, the adhesive wets the metal surface, keying into the surface irregularities and fills the space between mated parts.

Applications

  • Adhesion for cylindrical parts that need high-temperature resistance
  • Permabond HM162 is ideal for coaxial joints such as bonding bearings into housings, gears onto shafts

Features

  • Very high strength
  • Green colour
  • Fast cure
  • Improved fatigue life
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Excellent temperature resistance
  • UV Florescence

Surface Preparation

  • For best results, surfaces should be clean, dry and grease-free.
  • Roughened surfaces (~25μm) give higher bond strengths than ground surfaces.
  • To reduce the curing time on zinc, aluminium and stainless steel, the use of an activator can be used.

Directions for Use

  1. Preferentially to the female component, apply a circumferential bead
  2. With a twisting action, start to assemble
  3. Thixotropic products should be used for larger components to avoid a run-off
  4. Ensure the adhesive does not enter ball races or other mechanisms
