Permabond UV630 – UV Light Cured Adhesive

Permabond UV630 is a unique, quick-setting, UV-curable adhesive piece designed specifically for bonding plastics.

Permabond UV630 – UV Light Cured Adhesive

Permabond UV630 is a UV-curable, fast-setting adhesive designed specifically for bonding plastics.

This material has excellent adhesion to a variety of plastics including polycarbonate. Permabond UV630 has high cut resistance, elongation and impact resistance
making it ideal for applications requiring substrates with different coefficients of thermal expansion.

Characteristics Permabond UV630

  • Cures on demand
  • High cut resistance
  • Fast cure with energy-saving lamps
  • 100% solid, solvent-free
  • Excellent adhesion to plastic surfaces
  • Biocompatibility – ISO 10993-5 Cytotoxicity

Permabond UV630 Applications

  • Bonding of a wide range of plastics, including polycarbonate
  • Applications that require substrates with different coefficients of thermal expansion

Biocompatibility

  • ISO 10993 – 5 Cytotoxicity

Regulations / Approvals:

  • WRAS approved for contact with drinking water

Hot force

Withstands high temperatures for short periods (such as for baking paint and wave soldering processes), if the joint is not excessively stressed. The minimum temperature to which the cured adhesive can be exposed is -55 ° C (-65 ° F) depending on the materials being bonded.

Surface Preparation

Surfaces must be conditioned, clean, dry and free of grease before applying the adhesive. Use a suitable solvent (such as acetone or isopropanol) to degrease the surfaces.
Metals like aluminium, copper and their alloys will benefit from light abrasion with emery (or the like) to remove the oxide layer.

Instructions for use

  1. The adhesive can be applied directly from the bottle or dispensed through automatic dispensing equipment for more precise dosing. Minimize exposure of the product to ambient light.
  2. It is important to try to avoid air being trapped inside the joint as this could be detrimental to the final appearance of the adhesive.
  3. The parts must be held firmly and must not be altered during cure. Expose the joint to ultraviolet light for the appropriate time to ensure complete cure. The cure time depends on the power of the UV lamp, its spectral output, the distance between the lamp and the components, and the transmission characteristics of the substrates.
