Preparation

• All surfaces must be clean and dry.
• Degrease and remove all contaminants that may reduce adhesion with a suitable solvent such as isopropyl alcohol, acetone or methylethylacetone and heptane.
• Good adhesion without primer can be obtained on a wide variety of surfaces, including steel, aluminium, glass and certain plastics.
• PTFE, polyethene, polypropylene and other related materials are some of the surfaces where good adhesion is not normally achieved

DowSil 7092 High Green Strength Application

• Apply a coat of DowSil 7092 High Green Strength Adhesive and Sealant to one of the prepared surfaces and quickly coat it with the other surface to adhere.
• Upon exposure to moisture, the newly applied product will develop a “skin” in about 15 – 25 minutes at room temperature and 50% relative humidity.
• Any manipulation with tools should be carried out before the formation of this skin. The surface can be easily worked with a spatula.
• A high level of humidity and higher temperatures will speed up the curing process and skin formation.
