TECTYL 210-R – Wax Based Anticorrosive Compound

Tectyl 210-R is a wax-based anticorrosive solvent compound. Cures to a semi-waxy, light amber, translucent, and slightly tacky film.

These are some of the main characteristics of this product:

  • Tectyl 210-R is a wax-based, amber coloured thixotropic corrosion preventive compound.
  • Cures on a medium waxy, light amber, translucent, slightly tacky film.

Tectyl 210-R application

  • It is formulated to be used as supplied.
  • Ensures a uniform consistency before use.
  • Continuous agitation is generally not required.
  • Do not dilute the product.
  • Valvoline recommends that the ambient and product temperature be 10-35 ° C at the time of product application.
  • It can be applied by spraying air at low pressure.

Follow these steps to remove the product:

  • It can be removed with mineral spirits or a similar petroleum-based solvent, hot alkaline wax, hot alkaline wax, or low-pressure steam.
  • The dry and hardened film of the product can also be removed with Tectyl Biocleaner.

These are some considerations to keep in mind when storing the product:

  • It should be stored at temperatures between 10-35 º C
  • It should be shaken slightly before use.
  • Due to its composition, during storage, it may be subject to changes in viscosity after production.

Adequate ventilation is required for curing and to insure against the formation of a combustible liquid. The partially cured film must not be exposed to sources of ignition such as flames, flames, sparks, torches, or excessive heat.

These are some of the main applications of the compound:

  • This product is designed for: Factory level protection of closed boxes, seams, gaskets and other locations with vehicle cracks that are susceptible to corrosion.
