Anaerobic adhesives are one-component adhesives that cure in the absence of air and on metal surfaces (ferrous and non-ferrous). Sometimes they can also be used to bond passive metal surfaces and some plastics when surface activators are used prior to bonding.
These adhesives provide excellent resistance to vibrations, good resistance to shear and fatigue stress, and prevent leakage and corrosion. They are also used as screw and thread fixers, pipe and thread sealants, joint formers, and retainers.
